Go East on Route 66     Why would I do this? Go West on Route 66

In 2006 I talked about the wonderful experience of riding Ole Route 66 and how when I started the trip I thought it was all about Route 66.  I thought it was the glitz and glitter and sites along the way but it was much more than that.

This year 2007 proved my point that I made from last years ride, it is about the people.  (Check the above picture of the "All the way Gang') The Security Guard at Navy Pier who bought a pin last year, wanted the 2007 pin also.  He informed us that if we needed room for 100 bikes next year he would make the room.  Carl Johnson was our leader from Chicago to the South Side of St. Louis.  His knowledge of where we were going and the history along the way was just outstanding.  All the riders that come out in Springfield, Illinois and Springfield, Missouri, the owners of businesses like Zeno's in Rolla, Missouri who actually got his motorcycle and rode with us.  Gary in Paris Springs Junction, Missouri who sold nothing but gave us pop and candy for a donation, Bobby and Lisa Unser for taking time out and letting us spend time in their home and having dinner with us that night,  Jim Conkle for meeting us in Victorville, CA.

I could go on and on but all you need to do is look at the day by day ride above and you will see what I am talking about.  The American People want to Love, Listen, Help and be Kind.  They want to help find A CURE and are willing to give all they can, it might be a prayer or it might be a $1,000 but the bottom line is the People of America are always willing to give their share.

All my riders I thank you, all my sponsors I thank you and to all of you, I love you each and every one.

When you travel Old Route 66, yes you do get your kicks and much much more.  Not only do you travel through 8 different states with these loving caring people but you also get to travel in the very special STATE!
