It is 7am on September 8th and I am getting ready for the ride. You would think that I would have all my ducks in a row and I feel that I do. I am excited and a little nervous. I have taken trips this long before but never such a publicized event. I want to thank all the Sponsors and a special thank you to BUZZ Tools and GWRRA for their outstanding contribution to help find a CURE.
Today at noon the Jacksonville Journal Courier will interview me again and take a few pictures. When they get done I am out of here on my way to Chicago. I will post some pictures tonight on this page. A big thank you to everyone for your help, your prayers and donations.
All good plans sometimes go by the way side, I didn't get away until 2:40pm but I keep pushing right along. 6:00pm I was at my motel in Chicago.
I got to tell you that this is one nice hotel. The people are great and they even gave me a special parking place (see the picture below) and several of the employees bought pins. If you are ever in Downers Grove, Illinois please stay at the Double Tree Suites & Conference Center. Check out the pictures.

The restaurant at the hotel was closed. They sent me to a little Italian restaurant, about two blocks from the hotel, called Carlucci's. The valet didn't want to park my motorcycle so they let me park right by the door. My waitress seen my "Ride for the Relay" pin on my shirt and asked about it and of course I told her. Bless her heart she told the manager and they cut my bill in half and the waitress bought a pin.
