I have always heard it said that:  Any motorcycle wreck you walk away from is a "good wreck".  I guess there is some truth in that, but when you are the one walking away it makes you wonder.  Personally, Sue and I thank God for protecting us and watching over us, but I am really not sure it was a "good wreck".

Several people come to our aid and we want to thank each of them.  You know who you are.  I will attempt to list those involved in seeing that we were okay and back on our way.

Sue & Ed Albee, 22886 Highway 19, Salem, MO 65560, phone 573-743-6150.  This was the couple that lived at the bottom of the hill and allowed all the riders into their place and offered just wonderful hospitality, along with their telephone, restrooms, fresh water and more love than you would ever expect from strangers.  They even stored my motorcycle, inside their garage until we picked it up on Monday.  If you have a minute, drop them a thank you note for helping out fellow riders.  We were the second group in there place that day, as there was another bike wreck just and hour or so before us. THEY ARE ALSO GOLD WING RIDERS!

Dick Gillis, Jacksonville, Illinois.  He gave up his Memorial Day at home with his wife Allyson (who finally had a day off) to bring a trailer down to Missouri and pick up my bike (and Sue & I).  Not only are they just great people but Sue and I consider them our best friends.  As Dick said:  "You would have done it for me partner".

Tom & Dorothy Chumley, Jacksonville, Illinois.  We will forever be grateful to Tom and Dorothy for being right there on the spot for us.  Dorothy was watching over Sue as I was trying to get my wits about me.  Tom took charge and got us a rental car, which was no easy job on Memorial Day weekend  in Southern Missouri.  We thank them so much for many things.

Bud & Carol Beck, Sports City Honda, Jacksonville, Illinois.  Bud and Carol was one of ten bikes on the ride with us.  They were by our side all the way.  They took time out of their Memorial Day evening to open their shop and take care of what was left of my bike.  They have also worked with my insurance company and their help is continuing on until I get a new bike.  I really don't know what I would do without them.

The Group we were riding with were really,----- I don't know what to say, they were really there.  Helping us, holding us, giving us words of encouragement.  They were just there.  What a great group.

Gary Goad, his wife & son, St. James, Missouri.  Gary is the Rental Car Manager for Denny Ford Lincoln Mercury in Rolla, Mo.  On Saturday afternoon, Memorial Day Weekend,  his wife and son delivered us a rental car. Then took us back to their home in St James where Gary had all the paper work ready for us.  All we had to do was sign our name and get on down the road.  We returned the car to their home on Memorial Day.  They made it so easy for us.  I also think we found a new rider for "Ride for the Relay" trip in September.  Gary is a biker.
