Newburgh, Indiana is the home of Garlan Wilson. His friends all call him "Willie" so that means we can call him "Willie" too. He was born in Campbellsville, KY November 29, 1938 but grew up in central Illinois and attended High School in Farmington, Illinois. His occupation was Maintenance Electrician, he worked 17 years at an open pit coal mine in Illinois. In 1988 he moved to Newburgh, Indiana and worked for Alcoa 12 years in the Electrical Maintenance. Willie and his wife Beverly got married in 1995, they bought their first Gold Wing in July 1996. Willie retired in January 2001. He has a son in Rolla, Missouri (we got to meet his son and family), another son in Las Vegas, NV and a step daughter in Parker, Colorado.
What WIllie had to say: My family members that joined us at Zeno’s were my son Brady Wilson and his wife Julie, my granddaughter Dakota, and my grandson Zayne. I think I will try to attend the Banquet in Feb and bring my wife Bev along with me. I do appreciate all the hard work everyone did to make the ride a success and I’m glad that I was able to have a small part in it.
Willie will you ride again next year? I’m not sure about riding next year. If I can’t ride next year I will still send you some money to support the ride.
Highlight of the trip for you? I think I enjoyed the ride from Kingman to Oatman and spending time in Oatman as much as any other part of the ride. It’s hard to pick a favorite part because it was all good.
Here is Willie's eMail address so you can congratulate him on being part of the "All the way Gang": wd9fha@wowway.com
