Route 66 Arizona metal signRoute 66 California metal signSeptember 16, 2006  9am Leaving Kingman, Arizona.  Again today the weather was wonderful.  Our stay in Kingman was great.  Our host at the Brunswick Hotel, Jason, was really a nice guy along with all the people that work for him.  In Barstow, CA Norm & Alice Mitchell  finished the ride with me.  They rode with me from Springfield, MO and over the week we become good friends and are talking about doing this again next year.  We will see about that.  I want to thank them for a good run and their help in finding a CURE.  Check the pictures below to see how our day went.
I ended the night in San Bernardino, CA.  Tomorrow will be a short day.

The following group of pictures are at the Brunswick Hotel in Kingman.  Jason the owner and his staff were great.  The restaurant was some of the best food I have had on this trip and you know I love my food.  I didn't take any pictures of the dining room because it was full of people and it is a fine dining establishment where people may not want pictures taken while they eat.

This is some of the sites between Kingman and Oatman, AZ

This is Buck, a retired gentleman from Michigan who spends a few months a year with his wife here in Arizona  mining Fire Aggregate stone used in making jewelry.  He said that some of the rock that doesn't have the quality for jewelry he leave along the road for tourist.  He calls that "Leaver-rite".  We thought it was quite funny because it means leaver rite there.  We think it is funny.

If you have never been to Oatman, AZ, start making your plans.  What a fun place.  If you look close you will see Alice, Norm, me and some donkeys.  You decide which is whick.  In the first picture is the scene of a gun fight just as we drove in to town, if you look close you will see a man drew his gun on me because I asked for a picture.  There is also a really sweet lady in her gift shop, she bought a pin from me and I told her I would put her picture on the inter net.  Also a couple motorcycles with cancer ribbons.

Out in the desert we ran across these folks from France, just on spoke english.  They were fun and bought pins.
